WHEN?
A day you agree with your instructor, when you are ready for the test and have completed the full syllabus.
WHO?
The Driving Test is conducted by a DSA Driving Examiner.
TIME?
The test lasts between 40-45 minutes.
THE CAR?
You will use your instructors car.
WHO GOES?
You can go alone with the examiner or take your instructor with you for support.
INDEPENDANT DRIVING?
You will be asked to demonstrate that you can drive following road signs and a set of instructions given to you in advance (As if you had stopped at the side of the road and asked someone for directions to a particular place). This section of the test should last 10 minutes, you will be taught to follow road signs as part of your driving lessons.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?
You will have too answer two of the Show me/Tell Me questions. Then demonstrate that you can drive the car under full control. Demonstrating that you can take into account all types of junctions, roundabouts and traffic conditions. You will also be asked to do at least 1 of the manouvers that involve reversing, and possibly an emergency stop.
WHAT IF I MAKE A MISTAKE?
You are allowed to make up to 15 driving faults, but no serious or dangerous faults are allowed. Don’t give up, and never assume you have failed!
THE RESULT!
The Examiner will give you your result when you return to the test centre. Pass or Fail. Your driving faults will be explained to you at the same time.
WHATS NEXT?
When you pass your driving test you are then free to drive any car as long as you are insured! Because you are classed as an inexperienced driver your insurance will be high, so why not consider doing a Pass Plus Course to gain some more experience and lower the cost of your insurance.

When you are ready to take the driving test Pete Davies will apply for it for you to avoid any double bookings.
The test costs £62.00
You will also need to pay for a 2 and a half hour lesson on the day of your test in Hull or 3 hours if you choose york test centre.So you must make sure you are ready to avoid wasting time and money
You will only be able to use the tuition car for your test if Pete Davies agrees that you are ready for your test.
DONT THINK NO ONE IS WATCHING!!!
There is always someone watching, Drive Safe and Drive Legal. Always obey the rules of the road. Remember it is your moral obligation to drive safely to protect other road users. Always show consideration for other road users, and never react angrily to the mistakes of others, remember we are all human.
If you were ever seen to be driving dangerously then you could get an instant ban from driving normally starting with 6 months!
